What is “C95400” Material?
C95400 aluminum bronze is a copper-aluminum-iron alloy designed for components exposed to mechanical loading, sliding wear, and corrosive service. The alloy contains approximately 10.0–11.5% aluminum and 3.0–5.0% iron, with copper as the balance. Its alloy design provides a useful combination of strength, hardness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance.
C95400 is commonly specified for cast components where dependable mechanical performance is required in industrial equipment. Typical applications include bushings, bearings, gears, valve components, pump components, wear plates, and other heavy-duty machine parts.
Depending on the required form and specification, C95400 may be produced as continuous, centrifugal, or sand cast material. Common applicable standards include ASTM B271/B271M for copper-base alloy centrifugal castings, ASTM B505/B505M for continuous castings, and ASTM B148/B148M for aluminum-bronze sand castings. Heat-treated C95400 variants are also recognized in applicable specifications.
Tough Copper Alloys can support OEM requirements for cast C95400 components, including engineered near-net-shape and rough-machined blanks. Final chemistry, casting method, dimensions, heat treatment, testing, and documentation should be established against the customer drawing and purchase specification.
